The Arch

Grant and I visited our friends in St. Louis. Here's a picture of us in front of the Gateway of the West. Which isn't lit up at night right now because of migrating birds. (That's what Kara told me.)

We had a whirlwind half day, that included getting our eyebrows threaded. It.was.awesome.

The Caboodle...Revisited.

Lately when I'm doing my make-up I get so frustrated trying to sift my way through my make-up bag to find my eyeliner brush or the shade of eyeshadow I want to use for my brow bone or my solitary lip liner.

Today, my mind wandered back to the Caboodle. I like totally thought of 6th grade sleepovers when we all had our Caboodles stuffed with Dr. Pepper Lip Smacker and Wet 'n Wild lip glosses. It was then I decided, I must buy myself a Caboodle. Today.

I went to Wal Marts and discovered, much to my dismay, Caboodles are expensive! We're talking $25. I wandered over to Sporting Goods and found myself the Caboodle for the cheapskate.

This, my friends, is a tackle box.

This particular tackle box isn't filled with fish hooks and fishing line,

It's filled with eye shadows

...and lipsticks

...and make-up brushes.

Basically, a 6th grade girl's dream. And mine, too.

And the obligatory picture of my son.

To make up for my last post.

This was Grant Saturday morning.

Eating breakfast.

Playing in his exersaucer.

Practicing his grip with Daddy. He can hang on for a pretty long time, this will be helpful when he waterskis.

It's nice to have Ryan stationed at HAFB for reserve duty, he comes home for lunch.

He still has to be swaddled to go to sleep.

How I wish this picture wasn't blurry.

Naptime.

Watching General Conference with Mother.

I just love to stuff my face in this part of his head.

All of Grant's clothes came from Rosie, they smell like her home...until they get puked on. I miss Rosie.

It's from Brazil.

This granite is from Brazil.

Wait, it has my name on it.

Is that a kitchen sink?

And a faucet?

It must be my kitchen!!!

It's getting so close to being done, I can taste it. I love this kitchen so much I want to make out with it.
(I'm going to repaint. We changed our mind on the countertop after we painted.)

I did it.

I washed my cell phone in my washing machine a few weeks ago. I deleted all the messages today and didn't listen to any of them.

I'll get a new phone in November. Until then, call me at home. If you don't know my home number email me.

Mrs. Anderson, this one's for you.

I was born with very good genes...in my mouth. I would go the dentist every 3-6 years and walk out feeling triumphant because I was just told I have no cavities.

The dentist would say, "I'll see you in six months, right?"

"Sure thing!" Then I snicker and think, yeah right, see ya in six years.

I've often heard that when women have babies, they're more prone to cavities. I was having a little bit of pain in my mouth.

Have I mentioned I'm afraid of the dentist? I don't even know why. Maybe it's because when I was 10 I had some really crappy dentist do a very invasive procedure in my mouth then walking home because we didn't have a car and stopping in the middle of a big high school football field and crying. I should really get over that. It was 20 years ago.

Luckily, I have a cousin who works at a dentist's office and she holds my hand and strokes my arm and comforts me through the whole terrifying experience.

Today, Dr. Jones told me I have not one, not two, not three, not four, but FIVE cavities. FIVE! I have to go back for two separate appointments to get those things filled.

I'm terrified. I would rather deliver another baby then have a cavity filled. I tend to be a little dramatic. I've never actually had a cavity filled, perhaps it won't even hurt. But I'm scared.

Yes, I'll be back in six months and I'll never skip flossing.ever.again.

Ed, the lake, and my cabinets.

Ed and his friend Will tag teaming the guitar on the 4th of July. Watch out Logan EFY, these two monkeys are headed your way.
Grant has his first trip to the lake, he liked it.

Grant is always such a good boy. In this picture he had been at the cabinet shop for 8 hours with Ryan and me while we were working.

The cabinet doors.

My very wonderful husband and equally wonderful and ever so dedicated brother-in-law applying the glaze to the doors.
Not much to say, but I needed a post.
One day I will post pictures of our epic journey to Iowa.

Who do I think I am, Kelli Pickler?

This morning I received a phone call from the MS Society of Utah asking for donations. I'm always looking for a chance to get rid of my trash, it's another man's treasure, right? So I committed to them that I would have items on my porch for collection on Thursday. As I started going through my shoes, I noticed something.

I own a lot of

red

high

heels.

I donated two pair.

When he smiles, I melt.

Smiles.

He gave his first smile to Grandma Julie.

Look who came to visit!

It's Uncle Chris.

Guess what he and my husband did while he was here.

Any guesses?

It involved wood.

They worked from sun up to sun down.

Have you figured it out yet?

It required a lot of teamwork. However, Chris was definitely the site manager.

Rosie, please note Ryan's Carhartt pants.

They (mostly Chris) worked for at least 16 hours making the plans, getting the cut list together and whatever else he did before they even entered the shop. It was very impressive to watch.

They're building my kitchen cabinets!

See the tall pieces in the back? That's the pantry.

I'm so excited I could just pee!
