The floors didn't cost much, just Ryan's back.

After 2 months of dust, sanding, dust, sanding, and more dust and sanding, our hardwood floors are refinished and they look beautiful. I honestly don't know how people are able to refinish floors in a weekend. Here's our floor story. Sorry it took so long to post this, Liz.

All the pictures are self explanatory, except the last three. They are the 3 different wood fillers, we used a different filler in each room to see which was the best. If you look closely you'll notice where the cracks have been filled.
Lots of work but oh so worth it!

A.C. Slater

I'm a big fan of the work out plan Body For Life. It's 12 weeks to a better you. I really did transform after 12 weeks {I have the before and after pictures to prove it}. However, today I discovered Slater's 6 week plan. Maybe I'll give it a try.

Thank you Wishbone.

I know my blog is boring because it consists of what I eat, watch on tv, and what movies I go to, but here's another boring entry.

All of you probably know about this product already, but I just bought it yesterday and tried it today. I loved it. For my lunch today I packed spinach and half of a salmon steak left over from dinner yesterday and put 10 sprays of this beautiful salad dressing on it, yummo. It only has 1 calorie per spray and for 10 sprays only 1 gram of fat.

I saw this today and had to share.

"You need a better system"

says the husband as he takes a bite of the chocolate chip cookies I made and forgot to put in the sugar. That's 3 times now that I've made something and have forgotten a key ingredient. Ryan said I should make a mark by each ingredient as I put in the bowl. I say I can handle following a stupid recipe, but I have done it 3 times now. Hmmm.

Guess who I had dinner with tonight!

Okay, so we didn't arrive at the restaurant together and we didn't sit at exactly the same table, and he was finishing his dessert as I sat down, but hey, we chose the same restaurant and I sat at the very next table. I could've eavesdropped on his conversation if I hadn't been giggling so much.

There was a funny looking guy who walked up to him and said, "Hey, we're Romney's too! Just wanted to introduce ourselves." As the funny looking guy left Mitt said, "See ya, cuz!" I imagine that's his canned answer that makes people feel special.

I know the Iowans aren't impressed, they tried to avoid the canidates. Come to think of it, nobody is probably impressed.

The Ivy

If you spend any time reading Hollywood news you're sure to have read about a little restaraunt called The Ivy in Los Angeles. Recent visitors include Brad Pitt, Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton, Jennifer Aniston, Mandy Moore, Jessica Simpson and so on and so forth.

About two and half years ago (when I was a California resident) my friend Sara O. and I really wanted to do some serious celebrity gawking and thought, "Hmm, we should go have lunch at The Ivy, we're sure to see Brad Pitt, he'll fall in love with us at first sight and ditch Angelina and all her little rugrats too and live happily ever after." (I know the Smith's see all kinds of celebrities at Disneyland and Farmers Market, but I was never so lucky.)
We decided to make reservations, they had to be 3 weeks in advance, and went for our fancy lunch in L.A. We had an appetizer, we both ordered salads and both had Diet Cokes. Our waiter gave us free dessert and our bill was...$90. Yes, I did say $90, BEFORE TIP. I must say the salad was delicious but not worth $90 or the sighting of a radio DJ made famous by American Idol, Ryan Seacrest.

So here's the point, I just had dinner at California Pizza Kitchen at the Gateway and had the EXACT. SAME. SALAD. for $7.95, I paid $4 extra for grilled shrimp for a grand total of $11.95. I also saw Christina Ricci, Catherine O'Hara, and Reese Witherspoon.

I'm such a sucker.

Penelope

If you like to walk around Anthropologie just because everything is so pretty and nice to look at you are going to love this as much as I did. Go see it now then come back and tell me what you thought. You won't be disappointed.
